Review: Nerf N-Strike Elite Rampage (75ft orange trigger)

I know that a review for a three-year-old blaster is three years too late, but having just acquired one I may as well just review it.

The Raider is a very special blaster to me, not only it was my first clip-fed blaster but it was my first primary ever when I got it in 2011. Even when the Elite line first came out, I continued using the Raider (with slight modifications) until I picked up a Demolisher in March 2015.

In fact at a war a week before purchasing my Demolisher I was the only person (out of 8) who used an N-Strike blaster. Everyone else brought their Elite guns.

Category 1: Aesthetics & Ergonomics
The Rampage I am reviewing was a Sonic Ice series one, so here's a picture of the Rampage:
The blaster is made of translucent blue plastic and has an aqua blue handle. It also additionally has the digital camouflage seen in most common Elite blasters.

Ergonomically, the priming handle is very comfortable (the most comfortable of any springer I have tested), and so is the main handle.

Category 2: Performance, Range & Accuracy

Performance-wise, the Rampage is in-line with all the other N-Strike Elite guns, and the velocity averages at about 71 FPS. The Rampage is, like all other Nerf blasters not very accurate with its propietary ammunition. Buying some Koosh darts will help that accuracy issue.

Category 3: Rate-of-Fire
The Rampage has slam-fire, which allows for incredibly quick rates of fire (a person with speedy hands using this can beat the rate of fire of a Rapidstrike.
Slam-fire however affects accuracy, can not be comfortable to do, sometimes causes jams and can sometimes affect range.

Category 4: Usability
The Rampage, despite its fairly awkward sideways positioned magwell, is a very practical blaster for wars. Its quick rate of fire means the Rampage is used by many Nerfers at their wars.

Category 5: Capacity
The Rampage is clip-system but in the box the gun is packaged with a 25 dart drum.

Personal score: 4/5
Overall score: 3.5/5

Bottom Line: The Raider was a much-beloved close-quarters blaster for HvZers and Nerfers alike because of its slam fire and the Rampage upgrades the old Raider to modern standards and also continues the legacy left by the Raider. If you love(d) the N-Strike Raider then buy this, however you should find a stock to shoulder this with, and you have to get used to the sideways positioned magazine well.

Hi and welcome

Hello there everyone and welcome to this blog! As it's my first post I will introduce myself.

So, my name's Tom, I'm 14 years old and from Australia. I enjoy Nerf as a hobby, and I do wars every month or so at Manly West Public School.

If there are any Nerfers from the Northern Beaches this blog will announce wars once every month, three weeks in advance so you can come along! The Manly-Warringah Nerf Group is the only organisation of its type in the Northern Beaches, and everyone is allowed to come!

Our next Nerf war will be on Halloween at Manly West Public School, it will be a Humans vs. Zombies game and its a great alternative to Zedtown!
- First, we allow tactical gear unlike Zedtown. We understand the needs of many HvZers and we recommend tactical gear.
- Second, we allow modded blasters! Many Nerfers wish to modify their blasters specifically for Humans vs Zombies so they can perform their best and we respect this! We don't want to scare modders away!

Here's the rules for all our wars:

The announcement for the next war will follow soon!
